20-Minute Makeover
Topic: - 20 min makeover

Group shot of youth group from Knox PC piling up cleanup efforts from 20-minute makeover on Apr. 18.

After being plied with food, this bunch  cheerfully rolled sleeves up for part of a glorious spring evening and gave mother earth and the GT downtown a much needed and appreciated spring cleaning.

Garden pic (Spring is finally here!)

Photographic evidence that spring is here --

resident garden gnome helping (!) to put on some mulch.

Oh well, his intentions are so pure he can easily be forgiven for deficiency in technique!

GDHS Sr. Jazz at Halton Showcase
Topic: - halton showcase

Stan took this video of our own top notch Sr Jazz band at Halton Showcase at Hamilton Place on Apr. 16.

Even the resident band member was pleased with how this piece, Trofeo de bolos, came off.

Judge for yourself!

HH 20-min makeover, Fri. Apr. 18 -- can you help?

20 Minute Makeover

Remember, every litter bit hurts!

The Annual Halton Hills 20 Minute Makeover is set for Friday, April 18 at 2pm.

This year, without the downtown reconstruction, we hope to build on our past participation levels and have an even greater impact. On Friday April 18th, businesses, institutions and schools will be sending their employees and students out to scour their grounds or nearby areas to remove unsightly litter. Jane Fogal, Chair of the Litter Free Task Force and Georgetown BIA Board Member, is enthusiastic about the addition of the 20 Minute Makeover to the Clean Up Calendar. “This gives business people a target time to get out and clean up the irritating litter that is usually left for another day” *Free garbage bags and gloves will be available from the Georgetown BIA offices*.

The official time for the 20 Minute Makeover is 2pm, but you can do your part any time during Friday, April 18th.

Besides picking up litter, use this day to sweep the area around your business, put up a fresh coat of paint and clean the debris of winter. The 20 Minute Makeover day is your day to start your Spring Cleaning!

Note the office is closed on Wednesdays.

Couldn’t make those dates but want to clean up in your area? Contact Kay at 905-873-4970 for your free gloves and garbage bags!

Remember, every litter bit hurts!

Spring -- time for puddle jumping

Big sis took this excellent video clip of puddle jumping.

And you know what that means...in order to do puddle jumps, you have to have puddles...

And for puddles you need rain...or MELTED SNOW!

Does that mean spring is finally here?!?!?!?!?!

Just had to snap a few bbq in the snow shots to depict Easter in Canada, and show proof that spring really is coming. Hear the sizzle!

Great weather for skiing
Topic: - ski pics

One upside of a long snowy winter is dynamite spring skiing at March break.

Resident GT bullet Holly snapped a few pics on at Glen Eden.

Good times.

Birds

Hey, it was warm enough for Ben to play outside long enough to hear birds on this video clip.

More evidence that spring may be on the way.

Castle crush & happy little birds

Genticorum @Claude PC in April - Mark your calendars!
Topic: - genticorum coming soon

from fiddler eliz...

Greetings, all.
We are delighted to host the terrific Quebec band: Genticorum at Claude Church for two events.
There will be Saturday fiddle and guitar workshops as well as a Friday night concert.

We are very pleased indeed, to be the first concert in Canada where Genticorum will be showcasing their new CD: La Bibournoise
After their Juno nomination in 2006 for their second CD, (Malins Plaisirs), we can't wait to see how the Juno judges regard this one.
Combining the best in Quebec traditional music, the CD includes both original compositions and traditional call and response singing, with stunning three part harmonies.
This band is exceedingly entertaining ....and funny! It will be a wonderful concert, held in the intimate 160 year old hall of Claude Church.

Concert tickets ($20) can be reserved by calling 905 838 3512, or you can purchase them directly from Acoustic Traditions Music, Orangeville.

March break
Topic: - march break pix

Evidence that spring in its own agonizingly slow way is coming!

Neil and Ben got into a ripping game of snow diggers in the back yard during  March Break.

And the shadows from the afternoon sun  (yeah, sun!) were so neat that I just had to snap a few pics. Click here to see more.

Eight more sleeps to vernal equinox!
